Tiverton Archaeology Group

TAG aims to uncover and preserve Mid-Devon’s rich archaeological and historical record. We do this by raising awareness of all aspects of archaeology to anyone who may be interested.

Coming up next month – 7.30pm at Old Heathcoat Community Centre, King Street

• 19 November – Kim Luxton: The Neolithic Folkton and Burton Agnes Chalk Drums

We encourage all age groups to join us by supporting and assisting them. We will help to develop and learn at a level that suits them in the field they wish.

TAG members have an opportunity to enjoy an active involvement with archaeology. We do this through including field walking, surveying, excavation, research, pot washing. We provide training when needed.

Members have a yearly programme of talks and events and visits to places of interest like ancient monuments. Visits are arranged with member’s input.

Insurance cover is provided through CBA so all members are covered during group fieldwork – (there is an age restriction)

Meetings take place on the third Thursday of the month. Membership is available on request. You can Contact Us for more information.

TAG is a partner in The SHARE project. This project has given Members an opportunity to be involved in helping and supporting a significant excavation of a Roman Villa site. The project runs from 2025 until 2030. Look at the link to SHARE for further information.
